My heart kept breaking for Bryce as she uncovered more secrets Danika had been keeping, and how it made her question her importance to her supposed best friend. We did, however, learn a lot about Danika. Its sprawling scope encompasses a dozen main characters with multiple romances and competing for narrative threads, and its story is so complicated it manages to make the novel’s eight-hundred-plus page count feel like the novel’s somehow not quite long enough.īetween its potential crossovers and all the questions I had before starting this book, I was disappointed we didn’t learn more about Hunt’s and/or Fury’s backgrounds.
